Christmas in the Park
The holiday season is the most wonderful time of the year in our area! Each December, the Greater Hammondsport Chamber of Commerce decks the halls with Christmas in the Park, a one-night event that features crafts, sweet treats, carols, and even a visit from Santa! Wander around Pulteney Square to browse artisan gifts & festive décor, find sweet treats & cozy drinks, enjoy live music, take in a holiday show, and even have breakfast with Santa! Bundle up, bring your loved ones, and celebrate the season with community cheer, twinkling lights, and plenty of Christmas spirit.
FLX on Ice
The magic of winter is celebrated with the annual FLX on Ice at Point of the Bluff Vineyards each January. The Pavilion is full of shimmering lights for an afternoon of delight for those 21 years old and over. Begin with a welcome cocktail, then enjoy tasting stations featuring seasonal flavors. There will be ice sculptures, s’mores, live music, horse-drawn carriage rides, a hot cocoa bar, and more. Ticket purchase is required.
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day at Corning Museum of Glass (Corning, NY)
The Corning Museum of Glass offers free admission and several opportunities to celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr this January. The museum will host special live readings throughout the morning and a chance to engage in community service projects throughout the afternoon. Help create greeting cards for seniors and veterans, decorate bags for Corning Meals on Wheels, and join a public guided tour of the gallery.
Spring
Geneva Jazz Fest (Geneva, NY)
Treat yourself to the soothing sounds of passionate musicians at the Geneva Jazz Fest each April. This multi-day event features numerous concerts by world-renowned jazz artists. Surround yourself with some of Geneva’s best venues, many with craft beverages, wine, and dining options.
GlassFest (Corning, NY)
Each May, downtown Corning comes alive with GlassFest. This multi-day event offers free live music, entertainment, shopping, dining, fireworks, glass blowing demonstrations, and more. Enjoy family-friendly fun all weekend long, just a short drive from Hammondsport.
Summer
Keuka Lake Gravel Classic
Up for a challenging and scenic dirt road race in the heart of the Finger Lakes beer and wine country? Steuben Brewing Company hosts the annual Keuka Gravel Classic. You’ll be able to choose from two courses with different distances through vistas and vineyards, soul-crushing climbs, and gnarly descents. It doesn’t matter if you’re a beginner or seasoned cyclist; the routes are for everyone! After the race, celebrate with prizes, music, food, and beer at the after-party!
Hammondsport Village-Wide Yard Sale
The saying goes, “One man’s trash is another man’s treasure.” Each summer, locals and visitors hunt for treasures at the Hammondsport Village-Wide Yard Sale. You never know what you’re going to find!
Hammondsport Fireman’s Carnival
Nothing says “summer” quite like a carnival. Each Fourth of July, the Hammondsport Fire Department hosts a multi-day carnival complete with rides, a parade, and a fireworks show. It’s a great event for families during summer vacation. Kids and parents will love the live music, bounce houses, mini-golf, and delicious Carnival fare!
Hammondsport Festival of Crafts
Find one-of-a-kind treasures at the Hammondsport Festival of Crafts! This annual August event showcases over 100 local vendors’ creations and has been going on for over 44 years. Browse various arts and crafts in the Village Square and look at unique local masterpieces from jewelry artisans, potters, photographers, quilters, leatherworkers, floral designers, woodworkers, candle makers, and gourmet chefs! From custom tee shirts to handcrafted pottery, you’re sure to find the perfect souvenir to take home for yourself or someone special.
Tour de Keuka
Cyclists of all skill levels are welcome to compete in the Tour de Keuka, an annual charity bike ride around Keuka Lake. Choose from 3 different courses ranging from 45 to 100 miles. What’s better than biking for a cause? All local proceeds are donated to a local food bank. You’ll finish with a Keuka T-shirt and a medal to commemorate the race!
Music in the Park
Music in the Park is Hammondsport’s fun, family-friendly summer concert series. Take in live music performances every Thursday evening in the Village Square during July and August. Feel free to dine at a local restaurant with an outdoor patio to take in the sounds of Village Square.
Wine Country Classic Boat Show & Regatta
Step back in time on the water as you stroll the docks and admire a fantastic collection of vintage and wooden boats at the Wine Country Classic Boat Show. You will also meet passionate collectors and celebrate timeless craftsmanship in the heart of Finger Lakes wine country. Check out this annual July event at Depot Park on Keuka Lake.
Fall
Wings and Wheels in Hammondsport
Wings & Wheels in Hammondsport is one of our favorite annual events! The Glenn H. Curtiss Museum hosts this September event at Depot Park and Village Square. Visitors can enjoy a seaplane show, classic car shows, kid-friendly activities, and yummy food and drink. You can get up close to the aircraft and talk to the proud owners of these seaplanes! What an extraordinary experience.
