The History of The Olney Place
The property on which The Olney Place sits today has been a site for various businesses since the early 1900s. Starting in the 1930s, a general store has served the community with goods and services from this location. Froggy’s General Store was The Olney Place’s predecessor. It was purchased by the current owner, Seth Olney, in December 2006. Demolition of the building and new construction followed in 2007.

The Olney Place Today
Seth, a lifelong promoter of Keuka Lake, the Finger Lakes, and its wine trails, opened The Olney Place on April 23, 2008. Since then, he has operated the business as a general store and gathering place. Patrons stop by to pick up fishing supplies, sit on the lawn and enjoy a drink, enjoy the indoor dining area and free wi-fi, or sip a cold beer at one of the picnic tables on the deck. The views of Keuka Lake are incredible, including breathtaking sunsets.
